The 4th Cavity Eye Motorcycle Tour Was a Success

On the last weekend of May, we held the Cavity Eye Motorcycle Tour for the fourth time. The event provided a great opportunity to meet with our partners in a relaxed, informal setting and strengthen our relationships and sense of community.

Each year, more and more colleagues and partners join the ride. This year, our group included 25 motorcycles, 2 support cars, and 37 participants.

Once again, one of our colleagues – this time István Gál – shares a personal account of the experience:

Another year has passed, the good weather arrived, and it was finally time for the Cavity Eye motorcycle tour. This was my first time joining, but luckily my colleagues were seasoned riders: Szabolcs took the lead, while Brúnó and Csaba took the rear guard. They made sure the group stayed together and safe throughout the ride.

The Ride Begins

We gathered early Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Cavity Eye site, where colleagues from Kecskemét and nearby areas joined in. Everyone was there and ready to go, except for our lead rider, whose brand-new battery had unexpectedly drained overnight. Fortunately, he managed to get the bike started, and we set off toward Újhartyán to meet the others.

At the Muskátli Motel and Restaurant, we waited over coffee until everyone arrived. The popularity of the tour keeps growing year by year. This time, we formed a crew of 25 bikes and 37 people, with several riders coming from abroad, including Romania and Austria.

At 10:00 a.m., we headed to Gyöngyös, made a quick fuel stop, then continued toward Kékestető. Although most of us hadn’t ridden together before, we quickly found our rhythm and rode in a neat and organized manner.

Scenery and Surprises

Upon reaching Kékestető, we took in the beautiful panorama and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the local restaurant. Afterward, we took a group photo at the highest point in Hungary before heading to Eger. There, we had another fuel stop and a well-deserved ice cream break before setting off toward Lillafüred.

According to the stories, the team always caught some rain during the previous tours. This year, however, the weather was on our side, and we rode the planned route under clear blue skies. Still, we did get a bit of a surprise: the entire group was stopped for a brief roadside check by police near the Megyehatár rest area. Thankfully, everything was in order and we were soon back on the road.

After this unexpected pause, we decided to skip the Lillafüred stop and head straight to Kács. In hindsight, not our best decision. The GPS took us via Bükkszentkereszt, and the road conditions from there to Miskolc made for a pretty bumpy ride.

Evening Rest and Good Times

Around 6 p.m., we arrived in Kács, checked into our accommodation, and took some time to rest. A few of us explored the area and made sure there was cold beer on the table – thanks again for that!

After dinner, András Szűcs thanked everyone for joining, and we headed to a nearby pub for some relaxed conversations and a bit of fun. We even had the chance to show our partners that we’re not only good at injection molding, but we’re also great at foosball.

Some returned to the accommodation early to try out the hot tub, while others stayed until closing time.

The road home

On Sunday morning, after enjoying breakfast together, we packed up and got ready for the journey home. It was time to say goodbye, and the large group split into smaller riding teams. I joined a group who opted for the longer but winding route, something we rarely get to enjoy on the flat plains. I finally got to let loose on my Yamaha R6 sportbike, just the way we both like it, with the exhaust roaring through the curves!

We made up for the missed ice cream stop with a visit to Lillafüred, had lunch in Eger's Szépasszonyvölgy, and continued enjoying the winding roads to Gyöngyös. The last rider left us at Gomba, and from there, just two of us rode back to Kecskemét.

All in all, it was another unforgettable ride: great company, beautiful roads, sunshine, and fantastic vibes. I truly hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did, and that even more of you will join us next year for the 5th (jubilee!) Cavity Eye Motorcycle Tour. Because this is the kind of experience you really don’t want to miss.
